A Washington update!

It's been a long time since I last updated this so here goes:
For the past couple weeks I've been checking out the city as much as I can but for the most part staying on the Mercer Island side of the lake except for 2 trips to the climbing gym (one successful and one not) due to the climbing gym being situated in the industrial part of town that is super hard to drive through when your looking for a specific address. I'm getting better and better at finding my way around Seattle but I'm still far from knowing where I am all the time and that leads to some crazy detours that take me off course by more than a few miles over and over again until I'm too tired to care where I was going and just head home.

I Just started working at Alpental ski instructing on the weekends which turned out to be better than I though due to getting a group that already knows the basics of skiing so we can just cruise the mountain doing small lessons here and there. I'm enjoying instructing a lot more than I though I would which is probably due to having a class that listens to me with the exception of two girls that always want to hit the bumps which in turn reminds me of my sister who always wanted to do the same when she was that age. All the parents of the kids seems to be pretty good about giving me space to work with the kids and on occasion have even stopped by to help out which I don't mind but hear other instructors that say otherwise.  The weather was suppose to be rainy but I guess we got really lucky because it didn't start raining until 2 and lesson finish at 3 so that wasn't bad at all.

Another fresh new thing that has happened to me while being in Seattle is the desire to play soccer again. I don't know why it hit me here of all places (fields are covered in snow in Leadville) but it has so it looks like I'll be going to some pick up games at Star Fire, A soccer complex in Redmond that the Sounders train at and has over 11 fields. I also for the chance to watch some of the kindreds friends play soccer in a tournament that turned out to be more fun than I though it was going to be and also got some info of pick up games in the area so it sounds like a good place to get back into the sport and I guess they choose player from the pick up league to go onto league teams after they have been checked out so that could turn out to be good also. Can't wait to see how that goes on Wednesday when I will play my first pick up game and it will be my first time playing soccer in over a year so that will be good too.

And now for the biggest (and possibly baddest) thing happening in my near future: My birthday!! It looks like this could be my best birthday for a long time. It seems that the government has conveniently planned for my dad to have a conference on the week of my birthday in none other than VEGAS! I'm actually more excited about seeing my dad and the possibility to get in some climbing during the week in the balmy Nevada dessert than the night life but I'm not saying I won't enjoy that aspect as much as I can. I'm looking forward to having my first American beer in the Hofbrauhause in Vegas which will be about as surreal as being in Vegas in the first place!

That seems to be the end of this update that I seem to be typing only for myself to be able to read over later but it's all good because it gives me something to do. Here are a couple pictures
